Cathedral Prep and North Coast Flight School, located at Erie International Airport, have teamed up to offer elective aviation courses that teach students about flying airplanes. The courses cover a variety of engaging topics including a practical understanding of flying, FAA rules and regulations, aerodynamics, weather patterns, and other topics related to piloting an aircraft, Students can take courses towards obtaining their private pilot’s license and also have the opportunity to fly a single-engine airplane. All courses are taught by flight instructors from the flight school. Additional courses will be added according to the interests of the students. Students, on their own, may continue to pursue their private pilot’s license through North Coast Flight School by scheduling flying time after school hours.
